Economic and policy shifts during the last few decades have placed much of the responsibility for making sound financial retirement decisions on individuals. As a result, it is critical that Canadians understand how their retirement income system works. On September 25, the Retirement and Savings Institute and the Financial Education Lab, sponsored by the Institut de Planification Financière, brought together leading scholars and experts to discuss the current state of Canadians’ knowledge of the retirement income system and ways to improve it, during a lunch event at the Hélène-Desmarais building, downtown HEC Montréal.
